"I consider it to be the best and safest alternative to continue in STCC," said Alexander Murdzevski Schedvin of Volvo Sweden to the official championship site.
Rumors have been going around that the team could leave STCC for either WTCC or, most recently mentioned, BTCC.
"Polestar has got a contract which is formulated that they are going to represent Volvo in a national championship in 2010," said Murdzevski Schedvin.
There has also been speculations that the team would sell their two current Volvo C30's, raced by Tommy Rustad and Robert Dahlgren this year, for 2010 to another team.
"I think that would be a lengthy business procedure to run it with some kind of support team. It will take energy from Polestar and that is where we put our focus.
At the end of the day it is a winner's car and we know that our cars of today got that," said Murdzevski Schedvin.
